Calculator Update: What's New in March 2026
We've been busy since launching Carbon Simple. Here's a summary of everything we've added — and what's coming next.
What We've Added
20 Articles
We now have a full library covering:
- 5 Fundamentals — What is a Carbon Footprint?, How to Calculate, and more
- 4 Calculation Methods — Step-by-step guides for Transport, Food, Housing, and Consumption
- 8 Action Guides — Practical reduction strategies for cars, flights, diet, home energy, fashion, waste, travel, and workplaces
- 3 SEO-focused articles — 50 Most Effective Actions, Beef vs Chicken, Working From Home
Knowledge Base
We launched a Knowledge Base with three reference pages:
- Emission Factors Reference — Comprehensive tables for transport, food, energy, and goods
- Carbon Glossary — 20+ terms defined, from CO₂e to Science-Based Targets
- 10 Carbon Myths Debunked — Popular misconceptions corrected with data
Data & Research Page
Our new Data & Research page compiles key climate statistics: emissions by country, per capita comparisons, historical trends, and sector breakdowns — all with sources.
FAQ Page
The FAQ page answers 15 common questions with structured data markup for search engines.
Calculator Improvements
The calculator itself hasn't changed since launch — it's stable and working well. But we've improved how we document it:
- Our calculation method articles now explain every emission factor and formula used
- The reference tables let you look up any specific emission factor
- We've clarified that the calculator provides estimates, not exact measurements
What's Coming Next
- More action guides — We're planning articles on specific industries and emerging topics
- Calculator enhancements — More granular options and regional customization
- Updated data — We'll refresh emission factors as new studies and official data are published
